At Frisii Dairy Farm in Bhagatwadi, Maharashtra, modern dairy farming begins with a simple priority: caring for the cows. Our Holstein Friesian herd depends on comfortable housing, balanced nutrition and consistent daily attention. Automation supports that work, helping the team coordinate milking, feeding, cleaning and herd monitoring.
Located on the Kettur–Bhigwan Road, Frisii brings these systems together within one farm environment. The aim is practical: organised routines, careful use of resources and informed decisions about individual animals.
Cow comfort comes first
Holstein Friesian cows are recognised by their distinctive black-and-white coats and their Dutch and German heritage. At Frisii, everyday care includes spacious shelter, clean drinking water, regular health checks and gentle handling. Technology complements these fundamentals; equipment alone cannot replace attentive animal care.
Our breeding programme combines selected Holstein Friesian genetics with in-vitro fertilisation (IVF). Attention to lineage and the development of the next generation forms part of our long-term approach to the herd.
Balanced nutrition, from field to feed
Frisii grows fodder on its own 62-acre farm and works with local farmers through approximately 250 acres of contract fodder cultivation. This connection between fields and the dairy helps support a consistent feeding programme.
Feed ingredients described in our programme include silage, alfalfa, maize, rye grass, oats, hay, kadba, wheat bran and oats bran. Diet evaluation matters as much as the ingredients themselves. Total mixed ration (TMR) wagons help mix and distribute feed consistently, supporting a balanced ration for the herd.
A consistent milking routine
The farm’s rotary milking parlour accommodates 48 cows at a time. Automated milking equipment supports an organised process, while hygiene practices and careful handling remain essential parts of the routine. Frisii’s facility brings together GEA dairy systems and supporting equipment from Strautmann and Plastag.
Milk cooling and storage, udder hygiene and regular equipment cleaning also contribute to the farm’s approach to milk quality. These connected steps deserve the same attention as the milking process itself.
Cleaner barns and informed decisions
GEA manure scrapers support frequent barn cleaning and manure management. Keeping cow areas cleaner and drier is an important part of everyday farm hygiene. Responsible manure handling also creates opportunities to reuse nutrients within farming.
Digital herd management helps the team review milk yield, behaviour and health indicators. Records can highlight changes that need closer attention and inform discussions about feeding, breeding or animal care. The value comes from combining this information with observation and timely action.
